The Duke of Marlborough Tavern on York Street in Russell (until recently known as The Pub Round the Corner) has had great success recently hosting well known bands such as The Thomas Oliver Band and I am Giant.

NOW on Saturday 25th Feb they have Glenn Shorrock who was the original voice of “The Little River Band”

Glenn Shorrock and his all-star Australian band, give an amazing show of songs from throughout Glenn’s esteemed career in the music industry. Glenn is probably best loved and remembered as the original lead singer in the Little River Band. Songs a generation grew up on like Cool Change, Lonesome Loser and Reminiscing.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see this wonderful performer and entertainer with a great band. Ferrys available after the show.

Don’t pass through Kororāreka Russell without seeing a wonderful exhibition of Māori Korowai (cloaks). The Korowai is a finely woven Māori cloak worn as a mantle of prestige and honour. The cloak becomes empowered by the status and mana of its owner and the mana increases when it is worn. And as you’ll discover at the exhibition they are very beautiful, highly prized taonga (treasures).

Fullers GreatSights Bay of Islands

In 1887, Albert Ernest Fuller launched the “Undine” sailing vessel in the Bay of Islands to deliver coal supplies to the islands within the Bay.
With the fitting of a motor in the early 1900s, Fuller was able to deliver the coal and essential supplies to communities as far out as Cape Brett. In 1927 Fuller acquired the “Cream Trip” from Edmund Lane – with the facilities on board to transport cream from the islands, and by the 1960s, the well known ‘Bay Belle’ started this run.

Today, Fullers GreatSights continues this fine tradition and operates the most comprehensive fleet of cruises and tours in Northland, including Dolphin Cruises to the Hole in the Rock, Cape Reinga Day Tours, and Overnight Cruises.
